Believe me that even taking extra measures (meeting with staff 
pre-delivery, having a letter to the staff on your chart, getting the 
neonatalogist to agree to your terms and a note on the crib) sometimes 
does not prevent a "well-intentioned" nurse from giving your 4 day old 
jaundiced, NICU baby (who did not loose even a tenth of an ounce) a bottle 
of formula for his "own good"  It took him 7 weeks to go to the breast 
without a major battle.  Thank goodnes he "came to his sences" and BF for 
almost 3 years. I think this is one more reason why I will advocate so 
strongly for the Mom and Baby when there are challenges with the medical 
system.
