Babies in New Zealand are lucky; early circumcision has not migrated to them
from the USA, where boys were circumcised on day 2 or 3, in the hospital, as
long ago as 38 years (my son included). Nowadays some OBs in the USA want
to do it shortly after the birth. Welcome to the world my dear newborn! I
imagine if parents are not forewarned, most of the OBs will jump on board on
this. Then the parents will have to do battle on yet another procedure that
they want to avoid in the hospital. How inhumane have we become in our
neonatal care?
