I have worked in the home care field as well as a IBCLC. Many of the
wounds that we completed HIVAT ( Home IV therapy) therapy for required
long term IV Vancomycin. These wounds would take a very long time to
heal. Many of my patients were of the Maternal Child/ Pediatric focus.
Very interesting to see the "Super Bugs" that are around now. We worked
very closely with the Pediatric Infectious Disease department and they
have noticed a drastic rise in the "Super Bugs" and the long term IV
therapies.
