Hi all, I haven't been on Lactnet in ages, but actually have a minute this am
(all kiddos elsewhere!)
I have been working for the past 3 years in a private pediatric office.
I see all of our new breastfeeding moms, usually the day after they get home
from the hospital. They may see me as often as they like. They pay their
usual co-pay and their insurance is bill as a sick office visit (as opposed to
a "well").
This has been excellent for our office, a huge draw to new families. Obviously
it has been terrific for the mom's and babies as well.
I do also have other responsibilities. I am the nursing supervisor for clinical
staff and have 9 medical assistants and nurses who report to me.
I would love to "talk" with other LCs who also work in a private medical
practice, as opposed to in a hospital. Please email me and let's compare
notes, OK?
Thank you,
Denny
