I have read the archives regarding breast surgeries, free nipple grafts, and
goat's rue but wondered if people had any other thoughts.
There was a good explanation about interruption of sensory nerves with free
nipple grafts leading to difficulty having MERs even if ducts are intact and milk
glands are functioning. I understand this connection to maintaining a milk
supply that might initially seem okay but then not being able to keep up
without this release of prolactin to keep increasing supply. At what point can
you think that this is okay if supply and weight gain are going smoothly?
What about absence of visible Montgomery glands? I read the article that
was posted that explained a much more detailed review of Montgomery gland
functioning.
Also wondering about use of goat's rue when there have been free nipple
grafts? Is there any danger of engorgement/mastitis issues if you are
increasing glandular tissue in ducts that are not connected to nipple openings?
Thanks for any thoughts or experiences you have.
