Hi,
I have tried to contact Dany Gauthier about chemicals in working places and
breastfeeding mothers, but I could not get any answer, the mail is no more
available. If any of you had the right one?
By the way, here is my "little doubt":
I have been contacted by a Mom who breastfeeds and who has to resume working
in a month (her baby will be 6 months old);
In France, we have laws allowing pregnant women to change of job during
their pregnancy if they work in chemical labs; note we have no breastfeeding
leave in France!
but her boss was pretty upset to give her another job during the pregnancy.
His arguments were : security come from working under hood... working with
gloves so no need to have another job during pregnancy
Now she has to go back to work; she knows as well, that her boss won't give
her another job temporarily.... and she won't ask for it, because she is
also afraid of getting no more interesting job afterward.
She is ready to wean if she is not sure of being able to work
I do not have any book considering chemicals and dangers, and not much time
to buy one for this case; on my Lawrence and Lawrence, I found nothing. I
know it is not possible to give any advice, but I wished you could give me
your opinion;
solvents acetone type, toluene, dichlorométhane, solids:silica,
medicamentous substances often unknown on the level toxicity.
Thanks in advance,
Breast regards,
Françoise Coudray
