Brenda,
I don't know what was done between pregnancies, but healthy liver
function is essential to healthy hormone synthesis and function. I
always include optimizing the nutritional profile, as much as any
mother is willing, when milk supply is at a very low ebb. One cannot
necessarily throw a lot of supplements at a mom with a fatty liver,
but nutrition is essential as is exercise(and fatty liver can lead to
cirrhosis and death). I would encourage her to see a nutritionist
(preferably one who is skilled with herbs). The supplement Silophost
is a milk thistle extract that is very effective for liver detox and
milk thistle is also a known galactogogue.
