Related to parents being on formula company marketing lists without knowing
how they got their info:
Our hospital (along with 75% of US hospitals!, at least according to the
company's website) uses Growing Family for the newborn photo service. These
photos also serve as a security record of the baby for the hospital. So all
parents are told to sign a release in order to have the picture taken, even
if they have no intention of ordering photos. Then I assume that GF will
sent/rent their personal info to, among others, formula companies.
Also on the company website, there is a "Growing Family Club" and a "365
Club", both offering coupons &samples for baby goods. (Formula maybe?!)
So does anyone know anything about that company and how this works? Any
chance my suspicions are unfounded?
Also, the name is alarmingly close to Growing Families, which is
Ezzo/Babywise. Any connection?
Our hospital is doing a lot of effort to promote breastfeeding, including no
formula bags. So I'm wondering if this "service" is negating some of our
efforts...
Thanks for anything you know about them-
