Today as I listen to the rain fall in S Fl and having read Pam Hendrix's
posting, I am glad at heart I didn't give in and attend the Enfamil Conference
being offered today. I almost rationalized it by saying I wanted to hear what
an IBCLC had to say while getting a paycheck from Mead Johnson. My coworkers
went for the food.
I also decided that since today I have a hospital committee meeting on
Patient Education and I couldn't get anyone to cover it because they were either
going to Conference or working that it was a sign from a higher power that I
needed to just say "No!"
If I am going to pay to attend a conference were supposedly professionals
are speaking to provide the best information available, I certainly don't want
to hear "commericals" from the formula companies.
So as I go to my meeting, study for NRP and get ready to teach tonight I
will hope there were a few more
people who resisted the urge for a "great meal at Shulas".
I will happily save my $60 for the FLCA conference next year.
Go Pam, Go!
