A couple years back my husband worked with a guy who was a psa in a NICU.
He told my husband he worked there for benefits but made so much more
money selling baseball cards and cherished teddies on ebay, so since I collect
Cherished Teddies and was looking for the Colleen teddy that is so hard to
find, I went on ebay to see what he had. I was shocked to see his store
inventory consisted of maybe a few baseball cards, and then TONS of cases
of the mopst expensive formulas, pacifiers, single nipples, etc. When you
clicked on his feedback you could see that he had been selling stolen formula
on ebay a LONG time. It was amzaing the amount of money he got for it too!
My husband talked to him and told him he knew what he was doing, the guy
swore up and down that he never stole from the NICU, he said his brother in
law was a formula rep and gave him all of that stuff. So my husband was kind
of stuck, he didn't want to blow the whistle if this guy was telling the truth.
He only needed to ponder it about 2 weeks when the guy was arrested right
as he was walking out of work with a duffel bag full of formula! Apparently
after a while the hospital caught on, there had been an audit and from
January to March they had gone through way too much formula so they
investigated. They took it very serious, I believe they charged him with grand
larceny and he went to jail.
Hows that for story hour? :o)
