There is no need for drugs to induce lactation. Breasts will produce milk if
stimulated.
The mother can do this by tickling, gently rubbing the nipples and breasts,
and gently expressing whatever there is; as frequently as possible. In the
beginning there may be nothing, or more likely since she has previously
breastfed, a little plug of dried milk.
With time, milk is produced. The more the breasts are emptied, the more milk
is produced. Drugs only make it happen more quickly, and if there is no
urgency, there is no need for drugs.
