I hope I'm doing this right. My name is Christina. I'm a RN in a large
hospital in Seattle, WA. I work in a Level II nursery with mostly preemie
infants.
I am very passionate about breastfeeding. I breastfed my own children; the
last self-weaned at age 2-1/2. I LOVE teaching new moms (and some
experienced ones) about breastfeeding. I work with wonderful LCs... I just
wish there were more of them... you know how that goes... tight budgets and
all. Our hospital delivers roughly 7000 babies a year... we really do need
more LCs!
In June, I will be taking a comprehensive lactation course for
professionals. I am hoping to one day sit for the LC exam... but right now,
the number of BC hours is a little daunting with what I have going on in my
life.
I got this list address from this month's current issue of Mothering
magazine. I was happy to find it. (If you haven't seen it, it's in the
January-February 2007 issue, page 31, upper right hand corner.) I have
perused the archives a bit and have found a wealth of information that will
only serve to help me out in my job.
I look forward to learning lots... and maybe contributing at some point!
Thanks for having me!
Christina, RN
