I hear often from women who quit breastfeeding for whatever reason and had
no idea how much they would miss it. Sometimes we think weaning is the
solution only to find that breastfeeding was the answer and the problem had nothing
to do with breastfeeding after all. I tell every one of the moms who say
this, "Well, then breastfeed." The truth is, they can change their mind and
nurse again. Maybe not with 100% milk supply or maybe with, who knows for sure
and it is always okay to breastfeed/nurse a baby regardless of amount of
milk transferred. I encourage moms to change their minds all the time. It is
okay to say you made a mistake and equally okay to start over even in mothering
and breastfeeding...though I personally find them intricately connected.
Take care, and don't let the hospital work get you down....go to an LLL
meeting and suck up some happy mothering so it can hold you over!
