How interesting to see this post right after returning from a homevisit
on a 6 day old little girl. She was breastfeeding beautifully and
having 14+ stools in a 24 hours period. Her weight gain was perfect and
she was doing great. She did appear to have some jaundice and I noticed
an anal fissure while she was having one of her many BM's. The mom
asked if the orange BM's was the body ridding itself of the orange tint
in her skin and was going to talk to her Pedi about that and the
fissure. I just thought it was a variation of normal. I have to say I
have seen this many times in during my 18 years of practicing. I am
glad that I was not loosing my mind according to the posts I have read.
Thanks!!
