When asked by parents about iron foods, I talk to them about meats being a
good source of iron for solid foods after 6 months of life. I seem to recall a
discussion somewhere lately about the CDC recommending meats be the
preferred and recommended food source of iron for children the second half of
the first year (over cereals, etc.) If that discussion was here I can't seem to
find it with an archive search. I have looked at the CDC site and not found it
there either.
Am I remembering correctly?
I need a written, recognized source for a pediatrician.
Thanks,
