Oh Gosh! While I think that it's great that this has gotten staff talking
about the workability of combining breastfeeding and work I wonder how it's
helpful to be promoting a particular pump company?? We really need to be
careful of the relationships we have with any commercial identity don't we??

Subject: Reps bearing gifts
Hello All,
I've not posted in a long time but remain a faithful reader. Thought I
would weigh in on the topic of reps bearing gifts .I recently became so fed
up
with the machinations of the formula reps in our NICU that I decided we
could
fight fire with fire. Our very generous breastpump rep has agreed to give an
electric pump with carrycase to our staff who are pregnant and planning to
breastfeed. It has generated a great deal of excitement among the staff and
already a few are back to work from their maternity leave and are loving the
efficiency of their new pump. These staff mommies are also sharing with
their
patients about working and breastfeeding successfully. It has been a good
opportunity to promote breastfeeding among our staff , good PR for our Rep,
and has given breastfeeding a voice in the consumer wars around here.
