Hi Lucia,
You mentioned twice in your note that the R br had an obvious peau d-orange
appearance. Did her clinicians not see this? Is this still there?
It really sounds like she should be seeing a surgeon who specializes in
breast and breastfeeding friendly.
You may want to post this case on Susan Love's web site.
Another possibility is to get this mom to a therapist who does lymphatic
massage. I have info on Dr. Vodder School which specializes in manual lymph

than click on find a specialist. There are several in Massachusetts.
If you know the OB or midwife can you call them and share your concerns?
It really does sound like either an abscess or cancer.
I hope she will continue to breastfeed from her L side.
