Dear Wise Ones,
A client has given me permission to ask for your collective thoughts. She
has been exclusively BRF her nine month old son. He is just now eating a
few bites of chicken and cheese, but really no other foods. Her
pediatrician is now recommending that she supplement with iron and fluoride.
My understanding is that fluoride is no longer encouraged by the AAP, but
that iron is after 4-6 months if babe is not taking complementary foods
well. Baby is "totally healthy" and mom states that they did not test for
anemia. She wants to know if it is REALLY necessary to give this babe Iron
and Fluoride.
So, what do you think?
