Wow, that story almost made me cry! I left my dd for 52 hours when she was
9 months old, to attend a work obligation (I had already extended my leave
by 3 months, and I knew that I either attended this, or they would fire me).
I remember expressing milk in weird places, trying to save it, or just
dumping it down the toilet. And not wanting to tell people why I needed a
break, or how uncomfortable I was. I didn't have a pump, since FTMP, I
could do my job from home or take dd with me.
this was a powerful essay, in the New York Times, I hope it changes things.
