I would encourage everyone to read the latest Field Exchange published by the Emergency Nutrition Network because it contains several articles in infant feeding in emergencies.

I would especially point out the report on the floods in Botswana where it was seen that babies who were not breastfeeding were 50X more likely to be hospitalised (that's a 4900% increased risk) and of those children hospitalised those not breastfed were 8.5x more likely to die (that's a 750% increased risk of death). Just horrifying figures!
