Dear all:
This is a long overdue thank you to Jean Cotterman for her thorough posting regarding my
question about edema.
Her post really illustrates that we not only need "evidence-based" information, but also
experienced observers who take us to the next level. It is clear that she is one of those
acutely intent observers that is always questioning what she sees and how it relates to the
larger picture.
Evidence MUST be based in contextually grounded experience. Both are necessary.
Otherwise we get silly research that blames the bed when babies die of SIDS in the bed and
blames everything but the crib when babies die of SIDS in the crib.
Best, Susan Burger
