"What about a mom with HUGE nipples and a baby with a small mouth that
latches (has had NO bottle or pacifiers :-) and mom has been warned of the
consequences of using them)and is only getting a mouth full of nipple but is
sucking well and strong and mom has NO pain in her nipples."
If there is no pain and output signs are good, it ain't broke so don't go
'fixing' it. The success of baby-led attachment presumes that, given the
chance, babies will 'imprint' on the breasts the goddess has given them. I
suggest reassuring this mother, teaching her how to be sure (from output)
that her baby is getting the milk he needs (and what signs should lead her
to call for help) and putting her in touch with her local LLLL for ongoing
support.
Sounds like your new position is going to be lots of fun!!
