Dear Lacnet responders,
Thank you all for your valuable input. Your ideas and opinions will help me
move forward with anticipated changes to our program.
While I am disappointed that the state license overides the IBCLC
certification, I suspected the same and long for the day that the IBCLC
designation stands alone, period. I would bet my next paycheck on the fact
that in the U.S. that will be when and if we become licensed, not
certified and require a minimum educational requirement. I'm not saying I
agree, just that it is the way we think we need to do things in this
country for credibility.
This thread might keep going a bit longer, so if there are any more comments
be my guest.
