Hi All,

Maybe somebody can shed some light on this scenario.

In my childbirth ed. class I have a woman who is 32 weeks pregnant. She says
that since she was 27 weeks pregnant she has been having problems with her
left breast. When she recllnes at the end of the day. leans back in a chair, or
goes to sleep, she experiences sharp pains located in the quadrant between
3:00 and 6:00. She described the pain as being fairly deep in her breast rather
than close to the surface and not associated with the nipple. She said if she
changes position the pain slowly resolves. During the day, when she is upright
she is painfree, but that the area is tender on palpation. Her OB told her that
it might be muscular, but she says that it doesn't feel muscular to her. Does
anyone have any ideas or questions that I could ask her to help pin down
what this might be? Has anyone worked with somebody before who has
experienced this. She is as eager as I am to hear your responses!

Thanks,
Kathy Lilleskov RN IBCLC
