I have seen a Finnish bf counsellor who's been in this field for a
couple of decades doing the swing trick to babies. If she and the mom
are working together to get the baby to latch, but the baby cries from
time to time, she grabs the baby gently & securely, one hand holds the
head side and the other one the bottom side, and she swings the baby
up in the air in large semi circles, like in a swing, forth and back,
up and down. Babies calm down quickly, and they try can latching
again.
Honestly, it seems quite wild ;) , and I have never tried it, but it
seems to work.
