I can't find my copy right now, but isn't it stated somewhere in Dettweylers' Biocultural Perspectives that it takes up to 5 years for the immunesystem to fully mature?

Mary is looking for evidence about the newborn's immune system
maturation. What about exploring the work of Armand Goldman, MD, who has published
extensively on this topic?
Lawrence and Lawrence say, on page 173 in the 6th edition, that " The
newborn infant's immune system is immature and inadequate at birth.
..............The infant's immune system continues to develop over at least the first 2
years of life."
