I was one of the first to post in response to this topic, and I have to say that
the discussion has been very educational for me. I should have added to my
original post that even though I am personally comfortable sharing pumps with
friends, I would not formally recommend to a patient/client that she use a
used pump - since both ethics and the manufacturer's instructions dictate
otherwise. I was really playing devil's advocate and expressing curiosity about
why the warnings exist.
