I have a mom with a 9 month old who suffers from long term plugged ducts. She has a nipple bleb that has persisted for several months. She has been on Lecithin. We are not sure what else to do. She is planning to wean over this because of all the pain. She has tried opening it with a Sterile needle, heat, saline compresses, pumping, it is still there and has been off and on for 3 months.
She has given me permission to post this.
PLEASE, Somebody help me help her.
I have been helping nursing moms for 30 years. Not at all sure I still need that IBCLC, what advice could I give her under the SOP?
