Dear Friends
After reading the letters concerning frenotomies I wanted to share with you a piece of "interesting" information that I read recently when looking up material about Tounge Tie...
In the past, homebirth midwives used to grow one long nail in order to "snip" a tounge tie at birth (most likely included in the all over service to the birthing and breastfeeding mother, I imagine....!) .
I enjoyed reading this bit of information- part of the wisdom of midwives of the past.....
PEACE
Leslie Wolff, Midwife, Co-ordinator of Breastfeeding at Bnei Zion Hospital, Haifa, Israel
