I often seea thickened white "ring" at the base of an opened nipple bleb,
that remains painful for some length of time.
Triple nipple ointment would be a good idea...the steroid would calm
inflammation and hopefully help with pain right away. It could also be that
the bleb sealed over again, and is not shiney like at first, so mom does not
realize it is back. You can tell by squeezing the base of the nipple and
see if a bleb appears.
I will once again say I wish someone would biopsy one of these so we can
really know what they are!
