Terri, I don't think this is about shutting you out, or your teaching, or
the dad's intelligence, or breastmilk or breastfeeding, for that matter.

From having heard the excellent talks of Kathleen Kendall-Tackett at ILCA,
to me, it strongly suggests PTSD (Post-traumatic Shock Disorder) from the
perinatal events thus far, and highly likely precursor to postpartum
depression. For the sake of the baby as well as the mom and the couple, I
hope there is some way that someone can be persuaded to obtain a mental
health consult, even if the mother's ultimate feeding decision is to give
formula. The mental health of the mother has a great bearing on
maternal-child bonding, the psychological development of the baby, and the
statistics on marriage break-up after such scenarios is very high.
