Hello,
I'm just reviewing some posts from last month and was very interested in
Jennifer's comments about digestive enzymes and probiotics to improve Mom's
gut health as a way to reduce the incidence of allergies in baby. I've worked
with several allergic babies over the years. It can be so disheartening to see
Mom working through elimination diets and baby's symptoms not improving.
Mostly I'm seeing exzema and irritable babies who don't seem to sleep much as
outword signs. I would be very interested in hearing other's experiences of
improving allergic symptoms in babies by improving Mother's gut health. The
theory seems to be that the offending proteins are less likely to pass through
Mother's intestines and to get into her milk if her gut is healthy. Are there
studies or research papers to support this? What strains of probiotics were
most helpfull? What strength or dosage of digestive enzymes? Are these
available at most healthfood stores? By perscription? Very curious to know
more.
