Infant latch and
maternal nipple pain should be reassessed at this time. There is no specific
aftercare required except for
breastfeeding. A small white patch or eschar is seen in some infants for 1
or 2 weeks during the healing
process. Infection of the site is exceedingly rare if clean technique is
used as described.<<
It also talks about anesthesia being unnecessary and undesirable in most
infants under 4 months.
