Here in Nutricia's homeland (embarrasing to have to say this :-/ ) they are marketing the pre/probiotic thing for quite some time now, defining them as ''like the fibers found in human milk''
When they launched it (I think a couple of years ago) there where pancake (pancakes with the pre/probiotics in the batter) parties for home maternity carers and midwifes. Many HCPs around here are convinced this is a good thing to put in ABM in order to make it *even more* like human milk.
Warmly greeting,

Oddly enough, these 2 articles showed up in my Google News Alert on the same day. They both deal with "prebiotics", the first article educates about them, the second article is a press release announcing a new formula in Indonesia, whose marketing angle is that it contains patented prebiotics. (coincidence, or not?)
