Thank you, Marsha. Of course, I could research what all those 'letters' mean,
but, boy, that would be a lot of work!
When I asked my initial question about all the letters and designations, I didn't
realize I was opening up a can of worms (although, experience ought to tell
me by now that I am prone to this type of thing! ;~>). This is obviously a
hot-button, passionate issue for many people in this field.
At this point, I understand a lot more about all the designations and what
many of them stand for, but I'm at a loss to know what to do about it, if
anything. Part of me wants to go stick my head in the sand and just do what
I can in my own community; but another part wants to push for change.
Hypothetically speaking, if I decided to pick my head out the sand, what
approach should I take? Where would I write? With whom should I
volunteer? What's the best network strategy...or...is it already too late?
