Dear Friends:
Yes, I second what she said. Posts that rile me up are ones that teach.
And it is easy to disregard a post that I don't like to read. I just scroll
down. Or read it anyway and get mad and then keep reading.
I wonder if part of the challenge of internet communication is that words
are trapped when they are written.
I just had a round of hurt feelings with a friend who mistook the words I
wrote with deepest sarcasm, as true reflections of my feelings. I realized
that my tone, my sneer and raised eyebrow, were not part of the message.
And who among us hasn't had the experience of hitting "send now" and then
smacking our forehead in disgust/annoyance/fury/embarassment/apology?
warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, MS, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CCE, CIMI
