Getting my flame suit ready...
Something I have noticed in the nearly 10 years of participating in Lactnet...
Seems that the MD is usually the information challenged, limited one...
The lactation specialist is ALWAYS the one with the correct and perfect information.
Is there ever a time that a lactation specialist might not have the correct information?
Is it possible that a lactation specialist might be in error about some aspect of mother infant care?
I think if we hold ourselves up as always being the "right one", a bit of arrogance and hubris might get in the way of dialogue and broadening the other professional's knowledge base.
There are knowledgable, compassionate professionals in both medicine and lactation work. Perhaps appealing to the other person's passion to do the best for their patients may be a different way to motivate change.
Just a few thoughts,
