I consider the IBCLC to be on a par with RN, APN, RD. In most instances,
depending on the IBCLC, the IBCLC is way over par when it comes to BF
knowledge. Just because you have a RN, APN, or RD doesn't mean you know
anything about or can adequately help with breastfeeding!. They are NOT
magic initials.
Now I've probably exceeded my limit for the day :-) Pat in SNJ (who happened
to be a mom first, then LLLL, RN, IBCLC, APN - I 've always felt the first
2 were most important and the other 3 were magic initials to make me
credible to the medical world.)
