Best for mothers to breastfeed their babies. Now there is international
marketing being set up so that artificial baby milk may contain this
element, when it never has before. Babies would be exposed to it before
their blood/brain barrier is totally formed at about 6 months. Human
mother's milk contains only 7-16 mcg/L. This is true regardless of how much
the mother ingests. This is whether she must drink naturally occurring high
fluoride content water in India, China or Texas. Her own body filters
fluoride so that levels in her breastmilk stay low and her baby is
protected. After a discussion about this breast filtering function with the
head science person at the American Dental Association headquarters in
Chicago in 1998, he got the connection about it protecting the newborn. If

"Keep Fluoride Out of Infant Formula" Natural Solutions Foundation Tells
FDA, Codex Alimentarius

Natural Solutions Foundation, a leading global health and health freedom
advocacy group, urged the FDA and the US Codex Office to oppose Codex
regulations permitting the addition of fluoride to infant formula. Fluoride,
a toxic by-product of the mining industry and potent pesticide, causes IQ
loss, cancer, bone disease, kidney failure and increases the impact of lead
on the brain.

*US policy supports Codex Alimentarius in its proposal to add fluoride to
infant formula despite its dangers.*

Croton on Hudson, New York (PRWEB) October 2, 2006 -- Fluoride is a
cumulative systemic poison which has no place in infant formula according to
the Natural Solutions Foundation, a world leader in natural health and
health freedom advocacy and activism. The Foundation notified the FDA, US
Food Safety Inspection Service(FSIS) and the US Codex Office of fluoride's
hazards for babies through written comments in response to US policy which
supports proposed Codex standards allowing fluoride to be added to baby
formula. US policy on the issue was opened for comments in preparation for
the next meeting of the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special
Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU) next month. Fluoride is a toxic waste by-product of
aluminum mining and an arsenic-like pesticide.

Rather than deal with the expense of safe disposal, the mining industry
created the false belief that fluoride should be added to water, toothpaste,
supplements, etc. That way, mining companies make a profit instead of taking
a loss on fluoride which is expensive to dispose of according to EPA
regulations. Despite propaganda to the contrary, fluoride has no known place
in human metabolism and increases disease in those exposed to it. It poisons
the brain, kidneys, bones, teeth, causes bone and other cancers at levels
far lower than those permitted in water and has no known positive impact on
human health despite oft-repeated but deeply flawed research. Recent
re-evaluation of the original research and other data make it clear that
fluoride in any amount is a cumulative biological poison.

"Little is known of the particular susceptibility of infants to fluoride but
what we do know makes it clear that infant formula should be mixed with
fluoride free water because fluoride is so toxic to them. Since infants are
generally more sensitive to toxins than adults, banning it from formula is
the only sensitive alternative," according to Rima E. Laibow, MD, Medical
Director of the Natural Solutions Foundation
(http://www.HealthFreedomUSA.org).

Natural Solutions Foundation's comments were submitted to the FSIS and FDA
during a formal comment period to allow input in order to impact US policy
at the Codex committee on nutrition and infant foods, CCNFSDU, in
preparation for the next Codex meeting in Chiang Mai, Thailand (October
30-November 3, 2006). Despite its wide acceptance as a water and food
additive, and even as a "nutritional supplement," fluoride is actually a
dangerous metabolic poison with permanent effects at levels much lower than
1 part per million (ppm). Exposure is cumulative since fluoride is a
bio-accumulator which remains in the body and can cause cancer, kidney
failure, bone disease, including bone cancers, structural damage to bone and
teeth, thyroid poisoning, pineal gland calcification, reproductive failure,
synergistic increases in lead poisoning when both are present, endocrine
disruption leading to diabetes, other cancers and decreases in the
availability of essential nutrients like magnesium.
