Our NICU nurses have also found that frozen milk thaws quicker in the cold
water in the refrigerator. I can't find any research on it and my dietician
colleagues can't come up with a "food service" reason why it is not safe. So for
now, we are still doing it. I would be interested to see if anyone else has
any thoughts/ideas regarding it.
