Linda, it pained me to read that. Several years ago, I did a consult with
an Indian couple. During the home visit, the father shared that he was
breastfed for 6 YEARS in India, and that that was not unusual at that time.
What has happened since then? Have the ABM manufacturers infiltrated India
to the point that now 6 MONTHS is considered enough? I am heartbroken!
For-profit corporations are changing the good BF practices in this world to
very poor practices. It is so hard to save the world if we don't have the
same influence, or anywhere near the influence, that the ABM companies have.
The group of supporters that we have is growing, but it is still so small.
Sometimes I feel defeated - but then "I pick myself up, dust myself off, and
start all over again." They may knock us down but they are not going to
keep us down!!!!!!!!
