I have permission to post:
I am working w/ a new mother and her full term, healthy baby (now 2 days
old.) I routinely check on all moms at our hospital, breastfeeding or not.
This mom said she was not breastfeeding due to her taking Parlodel 2.5mg daily
for a Pituitary tumor. (Mom has been on this medication x 18 months w/ only
an occasional headache as a side effect/problem.)
I gave her the information found in 2006 Hale's book that said the problem
was w/ milk suppression; but that some mothers able to produce enough milk and
stay on med.
The parents are SO EXCITED about the possibility of breastfeeding. Baby is
now at breast and doing well (today). Her physicians are not so sure.
What do you say?
