In three weeks I have a captive audience of nursing students for two
hours. I am going to show them Psalm and Zoya: the Unassisted
homebirth of our Twins, because it demolishes every preconceived notion
of what a woman "needs" to be able to birth. Then will tell my own
story. Always in the past the rest of the time has been completely
used up just answering questions, but if anybody has anything in
particular that they think I just have to get in there, please let me
know!
And please, even if your only credential is BTDT, call your local
university or trade school and offer yourself as a guest lecturer to
any nursing or health classes that would deal with birth or
breastfeeding. Doing these classes is the most fun I ever have. It
feels so good to know that I can maybe help head off some of the train
wrecks that I get called to help with.
