Can we say "projection" here?
The problem is, in a hospital situation, how do we distinguish between
those
like Nikki's first mom who really wanted to breastfeed but was given
incorrect information, and Nikki's second mom who runs off to report her to
the
management for "making her feel guilty."
Since the entire world, it seems like, is ready to throw the guilt card at
those militant breastfeeding lactivists, it's a rough call.
Dear Friends:
Jan has stated my case so clearly. Thank you Jan.
Do folks that keep smoking tobacco even after being hospitalized for
emphysema complain to hospital staff about being harassed?? I don't think so.
Staff are strong in saying that 'tobacco is particularly bad for the one with
emphysema." THere is no doubt, no question.
So why the fuss about breastfeeding? (Oh, what a question to even write
here on LACTNET :-)
Maybe if all the hospital staff were united about supporting health
promoting activities to everyone, patients who felt "guilty" wouldn't have onyone
to complain to about it? Or would hear the same massage from everyone they
spoke to, and wouldn't be able to project their feelings onto the messengers?
As for nobody in school now.............is it your turn, Jan?
