Well, I personally hardly ever use Diflucan. Topical gentian violet almost
always stops the deep pains associated with nipple yeast. (1/2% if using in
baby's mouth also---1-2% ok if just mom's nipples). If it doesn't, there is
usually vasospasm of the nipple going on, and topical heat (heating pad on
low) after nursing or pumping almost always takes care of that.
I have used it a few times in moms who are chronic vaginal yeast sufferers.
But I really wish we had some data showing that yeast really can burrow into
milk ducts. (Here I am asking for a biopsy again---twice in the same day!!)
Does she lubricate the pump flanges? Pumping is so irritating.
