I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who responded to my email
about the mom with the 5 month old and her decreased supply. I really
liked the approach of not using the word supplementing, and instead
talking about starting some solids in the form of formula.
I called the mom on Monday and she said that she felt the fenugreek
had increased her supply, as her breasts were feeling fuller and she was
hearing more gulping. (!) The baby only chews on a bottle and sippy cup,
and mom states she has tried some cereal with formula, and most of it came
back out. She then asked about using the SNS. (!)
I am very encouraged about how all this is transpiring.
1. She took my call on Monday!
2. Her supply is 'seemingly' increasing.
3. She is open to using formula, and has tried many means and ways of
getting some in her, and
4. She is open to trying the SNS!
We are going to do another pre and post on Thursday to see how much
she takes from the breast, and then will probably try the SNS.
Again, thank you for all your kind words and encouragement and ideas!
This site is such a wonderful learning tool!
Linda
