I'm seeing a mom tomorrow who called me re a galactocele that, as the books
say, keeps refilling despite aspiration under ultrasound. My question is
related to treatment and interim breastfeeding. Since Lawrence says surgery is
recommended and the Breastfeeding Atlas describes the same (tho mom weaned in
case described), is treatment of possible previous blocked ducts with Lecithin
recommended? Is there any other non-invasive method of treatment?
I have never worked with mom with galactocele nor even an abscess and am
seeing her tomorrow. I would like to give her all the options possible. Thank
you.
