Just had to mention that using lanolin while pumping often creates increased
friction and can cause "pump burn"; I couldn't even put it on after pumping
because it would gum up and cause lacerations.  This has also been the
experience of most pumping moms I've met and corresponded with.  Instead,
we've found that a small dab of oil works nicely for lubrication and
softening.  Lanolin is just far too sticky.
