In Netherlands infants that vomit much or are presumed to have a mild form of reflux often are treated with Carob St Johns Bread-starch, which just ''happens'' to be produced by the country's leading AIM producer under the name of Nutriton (the AIM brand name is Nutrilon, see the coincidence?). But it does work reasonably well. It is mixed with a bitof freshly expressed or cooled mother's milk, fed just prior to a breastfeed and is said to thicken the rest of the milk once entering the stomach. Sometimes another teaspoonfull is offered after finishing feeding at the breast. I hate the link to the AIM business, but I do prefer this starch above regular rice cereal.
