Nicole: What a tragic situation - my heart goes out to your friend,
Madison, and her family! There was a story on the news and in the
newspapers last week about a man who awoke after 20 years in a coma (I
believe he suffered some sort of TBI) and is now relearning to speak, etc.
His doctors are amazed and have theorized that the human brain is
apparently capable of "regrowing" new synapses. In Madison's case, I can't
fathom that giving her breast milk would cause any harm. Who knows? It may
help her grow new synapses, too, and possibly a lot sooner than 20 years!
